EOIR-Ready Translation Packets: What Attorneys Need

For immigration court matters, foreign-language documents must be filed in English or accompanied by a certified English translation. EOIR also requires the translation certification to be typed, signed, attached to the foreign-language document, and to state that the translator is competent and that the translation is true and accurate. The translator’s address and telephone number must also be included.

In practice, an EOIR-ready translation packet should be clear, organized, and easy to use within a larger filing set. That usually means careful handling of names, dates, seals, stamps, handwritten notes, and document labels so the packet fits smoothly into the attorney’s court filing workflow. This is an inference based on EOIR’s document and filing requirements.

At Wabi Immigration Translations, we provide French and Lingala to English translation support for immigration attorneys, law offices, nonprofits, and legal services organizations.
